DAKE Hydraulic Shop Press, H-Frame & C-Frame (2022)

If you need to press fit new bearings in or force old bearings out, you will like the hydraulic power of a shop press. They are also used for straightening or bending metal and can even power a die set. These machines come in different types. Manual, with hand pump, has spring return. Pneumatic using a air driven hydraulic pump is available in single acting (downward) with spring return (upward) or double acting (air powered down and up). Elecdraulic is available in single acting or double acting and works similar to pneumatic but uses an electric motor to power the pump and is more accurate than air driven. Scroll further down to see our Dake and HMI C-frame type presses. At the bottom of this webpage we show a Brake Press Tool that can be used with almost any hydraulic shop press.

Hydraulic presses use a pump to move hydraulic oil into the top of the cylinder to increase pressure, which moves the ram down. These machine can be purchased in different size capacities. These capacities are measured in tons. The pump can be either manually, electrically or air powered. Hydraulic presses can be used to press or pull bearings (pulling can only be done if press is double action), flatten material, bending material, punching holes, and some presses are for special uses such as pressing forklift tires on or off hubs. These procedures are done by placing the workpiece on the table of the press, aligning the ram with the location on the workpiece where the procedure needs to be done and placing the ram into motion (manually, electrically, or air) and the procedure is accomplished. There are different styles of hydraulic presses such as; H-Frame style which resembles the letter "H" in the way the frame is shaped, there are moveable table presses which make it easier to load and unload heavy workpieces, there are C-frame presses in which the frame resembles the shape of the letter "C", and some special designed ones, although the most common style is the H-Frame.

FAQs

What is C frame hydraulic press? ›

C-frame presses are a commonly used type of hydraulic press. These presses get their name from the fact that the press itself is shaped like the letter “C”, however the press may be referred to by other names such as “gap-frame press”.

Where are Dake presses made? ›

Where are your products made? The majority of our products are made and assembled at our manufacturing facility in Grand Haven, MI.

What is an H frame press? ›

H-frame presses are so named for their H-like shape. They consist of a steel frame, posts, a press cylinder, and, optionally, a movable middle bolster. Since they can have two or four posts, which can serve as a guide for a moving platen, they are also sometimes referred to as two-column or four-column presses.

How does a hydraulic press work? ›

The hydraulic press operates by applying a tiny amount of force to the Plunger, which pushes the fluid beneath. This pressure is then spread evenly, raising the Ram. The pressure created by the Plunger and the Ram then crushes the item put between them. Hydraulic systems are systems that work silently.

What is C type press machine? ›

C Type Press

Categories: Bending Machine

Bending Machine
A bending machine is a forming machine tool (DIN 8586). Its purpose is to assemble a bend on a workpiece. A bend is manufactured by using a bending tool during a linear or rotating move.

What is gap frame press? ›

Definition of gap-framepress

: a punch press with an opening in the front of the frame at a level with the bed to permit the insertion of wide work or the feeding of strip stock across the bed from one side to the other.

Are Dake arbor presses made in USA? ›

These machines are made in USA. Because these arbor presses are built to last a lifetime, all frames are cast of heavy reinforced steel and incorporate a flanged spline design that adds strength to the press body.

What is a floor shop press used for? ›

Product Overview. This H-frame work shop press can be used for electric motor and armature repair, installation and removal of pressure-fitted parts and bending or straightening metal.

What is the strongest hydraulic press? ›

What is power press machine? ›

Power press. Power presses are metalworking machines used primarily to cut, punch, or form metal using tooling (dies) attached to the slide (ram) and bed. The slide has a controlled reciprocating motion toward and away from the bed surface and at right angles to it.

How does pressing machine work? ›

Once the workpiece is positioned underneath the machine press's plate or die, the tool setter activates the machine press. Using hydraulic pressure, the machine press pushes the plate or die against the surface of the workpiece, which causes the workpiece's shape to deform.

What is electric servo press? ›

What is a hydraulic shop press? ›

Hydraulic presses use hydraulic cylinders to apply strong compressive force to a workpiece to bend, straighten, flatten, or stamp it. Also known as shop presses, they mount on the floor or a workbench and have a plate or bed that holds the workpiece.

What makes hydraulic presses so powerful? ›

Liquids do not compress easily, which is why they are used in a hydraulic press. The hydraulic press works by pressing a small amount of force onto the Plunger which presses the fluid below. This pressure is then distributed evenly which in turn raises the Ram.

How does a press machine work? ›

Once the workpiece is positioned underneath the machine press's plate or die, the tool setter activates the machine press. Using hydraulic pressure, the machine press pushes the plate or die against the surface of the workpiece, which causes the workpiece's shape to deform.

What are the 3 basic parts needed for a hydraulic press? ›

The components of a hydraulic press include two cylinders, two pipes, and two pistons. One of the cylinders is the ram and the other is the plunger; they are connected by a chamber that is filled with hydraulic fluid.

Why is a hydraulic press so strong? ›

Firstly, its simple levers and push buttons make it easy to start, stop, accelerate, and decelerate. This also allows for control accuracy. Also, because it is such a fluid system, without any cumbersome gears, pulleys, or levers, it easily copes with a huge weight range.
